About our Pharmacy Services
The pharmacy department provides decentralized clinical services to all inpatients and works collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers and nurses throughout the institution to provide care to patients with a diverse range of clinical problems. WakeMed Health & Hospitals offers a blend of both structured teaching services with medical residents from WakeMed, the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and medical students from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as multidisciplinary rounding services. Services with traditional medical teaching rounds include internal medicine, general pediatrics, and pediatric ICU. Services with multidisciplinary rounds include cardiothoracic ICU, cardiovascular ICU, medical ICU, neonatal ICU, surgery/trauma ICU, neuro ICU, and antimicrobial stewardship.
WakeMed Health & Hospitals has strong relationships with the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy and Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and offers student rotations throughout the year. This affords residents the opportunity to engage in teaching and precepting responsibilities on many rotations throughout their year.
