Independent Aquatic Exercise is available for individuals who have completed physical therapy and wish to continue a therapist-established program. Individuals must be able to independently and safely: enter and exit the pool, perform exercises, and dress before/after pool use (can be with the assistance of a caregiver/family member).
The procedure for therapeutic aquatics classes and independent exercise is as follows:
- Participant completes a Health History form in its entirety.
- Participant obtains physician approval on page 2 of form.
- Participant calls the pool to setup an orientation with a staff member. During the orientation, the health history form will be reviewed by a staff member, and a class level will be recommended.
- Participant will purchase sessions ($5/session) at the pool office, prior to attending class.
At this time, class sizes are limited, and reservations are required. Participants must call to reserve a spot for class and/or independent exercise.
All classes are held on the Raleigh campus in the Health Park pool.
