WakeMed Children's – Pediatric Gastroenterology is committed to helping to accurately diagnosis and treat your child. Conditions we treat include, but are not limited to:
- Allergic Gastrointestinal Disorders
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease – Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis
- Recurrent Clostridium Difficile (C. difficile or C-Diff ) Infection (Fecal Microbiota Transplantation)
- Chronic Abdominal (belly) Pain (lasting for more than 4 weeks)
- Failure to thrive, loss of weight, poor weight gain
- Chronic Diarrhea (lasting for more than 4 weeks)
- Constipation and Encopresis (stool accidents or leaking)

Other Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders
Besides EoE, children may have a high concentration of eosinophils in other parts of their gastrointestinal tract that can cause problems, such as eosinophilic gastritis, eosinophilic enteritis and eosinophilic colitis. These conditions can also be evaluated through upper and/or lower endoscopy (colonoscopy.)
