What is an X-ray?
An X-ray is a painless test that sends low-dose radiation through your body to produce images of the structures within your body.
The X-rays that pass through your body are absorbed in different amounts, depending on density. Very dense bone and metal are white on X-rays. Light weight air in your lungs renders black. Softer density material, such as fat and muscle, appear in shades of gray. These differences help X-ray technicians determine the parts of the body they are seeing and any visible abnormalities or fractures.

What to Expect During Testing
If your visit requires an X-ray, we can accommodate those on-site.
Most routine X-rays do not require any patient preparation and can be done on a walk-in basis. Occasionally, however, some studies require specific instructions prior to the test. If there is preparation for your test, you will be scheduled and given specific instructions. Results come back quickly, so providers can diagnosis your condition and begin a treatment protocol.
