Urgent Care & Emergency Medicine
No matter how often you see your physician, you can't predict when an unexpected problem may arise and you need to seek either urgent care or emergency medicine services for you or your family.
Fortunately, our providers offer convenient urgent care services, including orthopaedic urgent care, and partners with the WakeMed Health & Hospitals system, which can provide emergency medicine service throughout the Triangle area.
Urgent Care & Primary Care - Working Together
As primary care providers, we are experts in diagnosing and treating conditions that require urgent care. Since we set aside a certain amount of office time each day for urgent care visits, we can typically meet urgent care needs quickly and get you or your family feeling better so you can return to work, school or your other obligations.
There are many benefits associated with seeing your regular physician for an urgent care visit. First, we know you and have an understanding of your current overall health. In addition, we have access to your full medical record, so we know your health history, drug allergies and what medications you are already taking. This can have a significant impact on the level of health care we can deliver and can also help streamline your health.
Injuries Requiring an Urgent Care Visit
Typical illnesses and injuries that require an urgent care visit are as follows:
- Cold, Flu or Cough
- Upper Respiratory Infection
- Strep or Sore Throat
- Nausea, Vomiting or Diarrhea
- Urinary or Bladder Problems
- Bone and Joint Problems
- Ear or Eye Problems
- Allergic Reactions
- Skin Conditions (bites, rashes, poison ivy, etc.)
- Pain
This list is certainly not comprehensive, so please don't hesitate to call our office if you have an urgent care need and would like to schedule an appointment.
