Peripheral Nerve Compression
Peripheral nerve compression happens when pressure is applied to the nerves in the peripheral nervous system. These nerves connect to parts of your body that are farther away from the central nervous system, affecting parts such as your elbows, hands and feet.
Symptoms may include numbness, tingling, throbbing or burning pain, or extreme sensitivity to touch. These symptoms can make it very difficult for a patient to function in daily life.
Our WakeMed Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery team has advanced skills and surgical expertise to reduce debilitating symptoms and restore mobility, control, vitality and well-being.
