Adolescents
Being a teenager is tough — and exciting! WakeMed Children’s — Pediatric Primary Care is here to navigate these years with you, providing care that will keep your teen healthy physically and mentally. Pre-teen and teenage years are full of enthusiasm and challenges, including changes in physical development that adolescents and their families may not understand. Our pediatricians in Raleigh and pediatricians in Clayton have got your back.
Typically, adolescents (beginning around 12-14 years of age) will recognize significant changes in their bodies that come as a result of normal hormonal changes associated with puberty and development. We’ll help adolescents, parents and siblings manage these changes in a positive way during this confusing time. Teens often have issues or concerns they don't feel comfortable addressing with their families; our pediatricians can answer their questions and be a source for accurate health-related information. What’s more, we tap into WakeMed Children’s wide network of specialists, including experts on behavioral and mood concerns, weight management and more.
